Sick of not knowing where your food comes from?
We like to be as transparent as possible when it comes to how our meat is raised and what goes into it.Whilst letting you know the exact details of each animal is a logistical nightmare, there are a few standards that we adhere to when it comes to the inputs for the animals that become the meat on your plate.
See details for each of the animals below.
Grass Fed Grass Finished Beef
We raise a small herd of cattle ourselves and also work with other Atherton Tablelands farmers who share our philosophy in raising animals as naturally as possible.
Our beef will always be:
Grass fed and grass finished
MRNA free
Bovaer and Rumin-8 free
Hormone free
Ethically raised
The breeds of cattle we use vary between farmers and if you'd like to know more about that or have any specific requests, feel free to get in touch.
Pasture-Raised Pork
Currently all our pork comes directly from our own farm in Millstream on the Atherton Tablelands.
Our pigs are mostly the large black breed known for succulent flavoursome meat, their docile nature, and natural maternal instincts.
They are raised outdoors on soil where they can run around, dig, and wallow as pigs naturally do.
No chemical treatments are used in the raising of our pigs and they are well loved and cared for.
Pasture-Raised Lamb
Our lamb comes from a local Atherton Tablelands farmer who shares our values around raising sheep on pasture with as little chemical input as possible.
The sheep are a mixture of dorpers and Aussie whites that are known for a leaner, more mild lamb flavour and are well suited to life on the Atherton Tablelands.
